This is a BIG TIME ISSUE kids…

I’ve NEVER been a politically minded person, I have never liked the activities and “good ole boy” systems and architecture at any level of government…

But we are talking about our Mother Earth here!

I HAVE always been all about saving energy, a limiting waste!

I’ve never liked large vehicles, I’ve always been down right anal about my gas mileage, and I’ve been using Florescent Screw in Light bulbs since they were $20 a piece!!!

But thats just not enough, we need GLOBAL change, and we need it NOW!

Have you ever seen the movie “An Inconvenient Truth”?

Sure, maybe it did have a tinge of “Al Gore for President” propaganda, should you choose to look at it that way, but should you reference all the FACTS mentioned in that movie…

You’ll find that they are ALL indeed “Inconvenient Truths”

I sucked it up, and put down my past disposition for the government, and made this call.

SO SHOULD YOU!

For our longevity, for our kids and our grandkids, for our friends and families…

for our skin…

There’s no reason why we can’t fuel our transportation on alternative fuels TODAY!

Maybe the “Biden-Lugar” isn’t the end all to our problem, but it’s DAMN sure a start!

Call Your U.S. Senators Today!
Urge them to support the Biden-Lugar International Climate Change Resolution (S.Res. 30)!

What is S.Res. 30?

Senators Joseph Biden (D-DE) and Richard Lugar (R-IN) have introduced S.Res. 30, a resolution that would put the Senate on record urging the United States to work with other countries to establish effective international climate change commitments. The resolution made it out of Committee on March 29th, and is expected to come before the full Senate for a vote THIS WEEK! We need your help to make sure it passes!

HERE ARE THE OFFICES AND PHONE NUMBERS FOR YOUR SENATORS.

FIND YOUR SENATOR’S NAME AND CONTACT INFO BY CLICKING HERE! (It’ll open in it’s own window and everything… since I’m SUCH a nice guy! ;o))
————————————————————————————————–

YOU CAN USE THIS SCRIPT WHEN CALLING YOUR SENATORS’ OFFICES:

YOU: Hello, my name is (name) and I live in (hometown). I’m calling because I want the Senator to support S.Res. 30, the Biden-Lugar International Climate Change Resolution. I believe the U.S. must participate in binding international climate agreements. Do you know whether the Senator plans to support this resolution?

ASSISTANT: [He/She will either state the Senator’s position or volunteer to pass along your views.]

YOU: Thanks. Please let the Senator know I’ll be keeping track of his stance on this issue.

If you are put into voicemail, you can leave this message:

“Hello, my name is (name) and I live in (hometown). My phone number is (number). I’m calling because I want the Senator to support S.Res. 30, the Biden-Lugar International Climate Change Resolution. I believe the U.S. must participate in binding international climate agreements. Please voice my concern to the Senator and let him know I will be keeping track of his stance on this issue. Thank you.”

Why is it important?

There is still time to prevent the devastating effects of climate change, but only if we act now and act internationally. As the world’s biggest emitter of greenhouse gases, the U.S. is in a unique position to take the lead in solving this global challenge. Without U.S. participation, international efforts to combat climate change won’t work. In fact, many of the world’s key leaders probably won’t even come to the negotiating table without the United States there. Right now, the U.S. Senate’s record of opposition to international climate agreements is an obstacle to effective international action. Help us get this obstacle out of the way so we can get down to the real work of fighting climate change!

You’ve probably heard that the United Nations’ climate change panel recently issued a report detailing the devastating impacts of unchecked climate change. And in a ruling last week, the U.S. Supreme Court called on the EPA to regulate carbon dioxide as a pollutant. NOW IT’S TIME FOR THE SENATE TO ACT!

– Don’t forget to email me to let me know that you called. We’re keeping a log to let us know who has been contacted.

Thank you!
